European tastes a Macerata

Aperitivo al Bar Maracuja

Se dico sangria e paella che Stato europeo vi viene in mente? La Spagna.
E se dico gulasch? Ungheria.
E dove si consumano feta e tzatziki? In Grecia.
E lingua di manzo, insalata di aringhe? Un paese dell’est Europa come la Lituania?

Bravi! sono alcuni dei prodotti che è stato possibile degustare a Macerata in occasione della recente manifestazione “Caffè Europa” un percorso alla scoperta di ricette, vini e altre bevande alcoliche del vecchio continente in collaborazione con i bar e i caffè di Macerata. Promotrice dell’evento, in occasione della Festa d'Europa 2007, è stata l'associazione culturale “Strade d'Europa". L'associazione opera nel campo della promozione culturale e dell'educazione rivolta ai giovani, basandosi sui principi di interculturalità, integrazione e sensibilizzazione alla cittadinanza attiva. Si è pensato di sfruttare l’idea dell'aperitivo, tipico modo di stare insieme italiano, per mescolare e far incontrare tra loro, usanze, tradizioni e sapori europei... La manifestazione è stata organizzata in collaborazione con il Comune di Macerata che ha supportato economicamente l’evento. 29 i bar maceratesi che hanno aderito e sono stati rappresentati in tutto 20 Stati.

"Ogni bar che ha partecipato, ha potuto gestire in maniera autonoma l’iniziativa e alcuni hanno collaborato attivamente ed hanno capito lo spirito e il senso dell’evento" ci raccontano le animatrici della manifestazione. Dalla Francia sono stati ordinati vini e formaggi francesi e sono state cucinate specialità tipiche tra cui le celebri omelette. A rappresentare l’Austria sia vini austriaci, salse tipiche e la torta sacher. Salse e stuzzichini inglesi oltre una varietà di birre ordinate appositamente rappresentavano il Regno Unito. Chi ha voluto avvicinare le usanze estoni lo ha potuto fare durante una “cena” con diversi tipi di insalata russa, e da bere ovviamente non solo birra ma anche vodka. E poi vini dalla Slovenia e stuzzichini tipici. Uova sode con alici dalla Svezia, birra e caffè dall’Olanda.

La maggior parte dei proprietari dei vari bar ha espresso l’impegno di ripetersi il prossimo anno e anche per più giorni. Questo anche in considerazione del gradimento del pubblico a cui erano rivolte anche pubblicazioni e materiale divulgativo distribuito presso i vari locali... The manifestation has been organized in collaboration with Comune of Macerata that supported economically the event. 29 bars have joined and 20 european States have been represented. “Every bar that has participated, has collaborated actively and has understood the spirit and the sense of the event”. From France arrived wines and French cheeses and typical specialties have been cooked as omelette. To represent Austria there were Austrian wines, typical sauces and the cake sacher. English sauces and stuzzichini beyond a variety of beers represented United Kingdom. People interested to approach the customs from Estonia had this opportunity during one “supper” with various types of Russian insalata, and to drink obviously not only beer but also vodka.
