"Two mount chains join between they near the group of the Sibillini; under the silent one is lain down between the lussureggiante green goes them. The water comes down limpid and noisy: it is the Chienti river that gives the name to this fertile valley. The green of the vegetation is interrupted from the roofs, from the ancient ways, the noises of a small country mounts: Muccia, a center of the province of Macerata composed from 833 inhabitants, to 451 meters of height. A campaign of diggings carried out in its datable territory brought back to the light reperti neoliti to us around to the 4000 a.C. Perhaps the history of Muccia has origin to those times. Muccia derives from the Latin "Muzia", an ancient Roman owner who gave to this territory just the name. The presence of the imperial Rome was facilitated from the passage of an important road: the Flaminia. It carried from Rome to Foligno and, coming down from the plateau of Colfiorito, it exceeded Muccia in order then to cover the entire Marches region. Muccia and in particular the fraction the Maddalena hour is a point of reference for very many travellers and traders. In fact it can be found all what it can serve for the daily life: storees for the kinds the first very many necessity and other asset trades them is $R-all'.ingrosso that by piece. All this in single 2 km of road. To Muccia and outskirtses like outlined in the cartina, there are numerous ruderi churches and of castles to visit. To With of Giove the church of Saint Giovanni is found, to Massaprofoglio there are the church of S.Andrea and the Madonna of the Marsh. The church of the Madonna di Prefoglio, that one of S.Lucia to Vallicchio di Muccia and the Sanctuary of the Madonna to With can be visited moreover of Twenty. This last one, came constructed in 1600, on the place in which, second the legend, two German pilgrims were forced to stop itself whom they wanted to lead to Rome the table of the Vergine with the Child. In locality Costafiore di Muccia there are the church of Saint Nicolò and the Madonna di Loreto. The photo under extension the Saint Church Maria Di Varano. In Romanesque-gotico style, it was constructed in 1500. E' a church to ottogonale plant, constructed from Varano, getlteman of Small room who reigned in the territory for three hundred years. To the inside of the church pregevoli can be admired works of Andrea Magistris. In zone other rests of the presence of the Getlteman of Small room are found, between these rests of the Castle of Prefoglio. The Sanctuary of the Rizzerio Blessed soul rises to Tail of Muccia. In Romanesque Style it was constructed in 1970. In this eremo the boneses of the disciple of Saint Francisco di Assisi rest. The Eremo is center of the omonimo cenacolo vocazionale, with it knows it receptive reunions and structures. The small public square of Muccia accommodates the parochial church of Saint Biagio. The structure of the church does not make however to think to previous and an ancient one tempio. The stones with which a wonderful one loggia in its vicinities is constructed and, remember an ancient signorile palace. To its inside wonderful statue in wood of Saint Sebastiano carved in 1400 is conserved one. The altar greater conserve the empty ones of the Rizzerio blessed soul, companion of Saint Francisco d' Assisi. In the outskirtses of Muccia numerous votive newspaper stands can be met and some places fortify to you between these are "the Torraccia", or better the "Tower than Mass". It finds in the vicinities of the fraction of Massaprofoglio (808 m.s.l.m.) and those that remains of this medieval tower is only some ruderi. Probably in antichi times it came used like lookout-post tower in order to sight eventual coming from invaders from the valley.
